Dental Implants Dental implants are now the standard of care for replacing single teeth, multiple teeth, or to aid in the retention of a denture or a bridge. An implant is a titanium rod that is placed into the bone where a tooth previously was. Once placed, the implant is left alone to heal for 3-6 months so the neighboring bone is allowed to grow around the implant. Once strongly anchored into place, the implant is revealed to have either a crown attached or a connector placed to attach onto a denture or a fixed bridge. The implants are placed by the oral surgeon or periodontist, and the final restorations are completed at our office. |
